Elm Macpherson is a multi-disciplinary creative working in an array of mediums across a multitude of projects. Working as an independent artist developing a portfolio of solo and collaborative work with like minded makers across illustration, performance, photography and video. Primarily known for explorative genre work that melds classical understandings of the Gothic and modern reflections of queerness, to tell both relatable and strange stories.
Completing their Bachelor of Design Arts (Visual Arts) LCI Melbourne in 2020, Elm has proceeded to work prolifically in exploratory mediums. Debuting in the same year their solo performance work Fortune at Melbourne Fringe, then touring in 2021 with Midsumma festival. They’ve worked within the Infinity Ensemble as a collaborator, performer and writer. Showcasing the titanic multimedia explosion of Anything & Everything in 2022 at Melbourne’s Rising festival, after a successful smaller showing in 2020 with the Substation. 
Currently developing their performance practice with new work like ‘Devour’ 2023, and returning to publication with an upcoming book ‘Who’s afraid of the Deep, Dark Forest?’. They also work as a freelance designer and photographer in Melbourne’s gaming scene, notably with Midnight in Melbourne as their staff artist.
